About the Institute
Avanthi Institute of Engineering and Technology (Autonomous), Cherukupally Village, is permanently affiliated with Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Gurajada–Vizianagaram (JNTU-GV) and has been approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) since 2005. The Institute functions under the aegis of the Avanthi Educational Society, founded in 1992 by the visionary educationist Sri M. Srinivasa Rao.
The Institute is committed to maintaining high standards of academic excellence, professional training, research, innovation, and holistic development of its students. With state-of-the-art infrastructure, experienced faculty, modern research laboratories, and dedicated placement support, AIET has emerged as one of the premier technical education institutions in North Coastal Andhra Pradesh.

Avanthi Educational Society was registered in 1991 with a vision of promoting quality education and creating opportunities for students to pursue higher education in diverse academic and professional disciplines. Since its inception, the Society has steadily expanded its educational initiatives and has established several institutions that have contributed significantly to the field of higher education.
The Society has consistently endeavoured to keep pace with the changing requirements of education, technology, industry, and society, while striving to provide quality academic and professional education.

Since its inception, Avanthi Educational Society has functioned under the visionary leadership and guidance of Sri M. Srinivasa Rao, a pioneer and promoter of higher education.
Beginning with a humble strength of nine students, the Society has grown substantially over the years and has established 14 educational institutions, providing a diverse platform for students to pursue various academic and professional programmes.
The growth of the Society to a student strength of approximately 20,000 students stands as a significant testimony to its sustained commitment to educational development and institutional growth.

Accreditations & Achievements
NAAC & UGC Autonomy
AIET has achieved significant recognition for its academic and institutional quality. The Institute has been accredited with NAAC A+ Grade with a CGPA of 3.38/4.00 in Cycle II, for a period of five years from 2024 to 2029.
The Institute has also been granted Autonomous Status by the University Grants Commission (UGC), enabling the Institute to exercise academic autonomy in accordance with applicable UGC regulations. The Autonomous Status is valid up to 2033–34.
NBA & National Rankings
The Institute has received NBA accreditation for its undergraduate programmes, including Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering, during respective accreditation cycles.
AIET was also prominently featured among the 19 select engineering colleges across the two Telugu-speaking states in the prestigious Times of India Survey 2023.
